Privacy Policy

Compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — EU Regulation 2016/679).

⚠️ Governing law — This document, and any contract entered into with ForgeCalc, is governed by French law. This translation is provided for informational purposes only; in the event of a dispute or a discrepancy in interpretation, only the French version is authoritative and French courts have exclusive jurisdiction, regardless of the client's country of residence.
In short: ForgeCalc is software installed on your computer, not an online service. Calculating your costs, invoicing, managing your filament/resin stock — it all stays on your hard drive. We only collect what is strictly necessary to sell and deliver a license to you.

Data controller

The controller responsible for processing the data described below is:

Cocagne Marc, 36 rue lazare carnot 76300 sotteville-les-rouenn, contact: contact@forgecalc.app.

Data collected and why

ForgeCalc distinguishes between two very different contexts: the sales site (which you are currently browsing) and the software itself, installed on your PC.

On the sales site

DataPurposeLegal basis
EmailDelivery of your license key, customer supportPerformance of the contract
Name (if provided)Invoice personalizationPerformance of the contract
Payment dataPayment processingPerformance of the contract
Email (“keep me posted” form, pre-launch page)One message announcing that sales are openConsent, withdrawable at any time (unsubscribe link in the message)

Payment data (card number, etc.) is never stored by us — it passes directly through our payment provider (Paddle), which has its own privacy policy.

Within the ForgeCalc software itself

The software runs 100% locally — your 3D files, your rates, your clients, your invoices stay on your hard drive, never transmitted to our servers.

The only technical data involved is the machine identifier (a code generated from your hardware, with no link to your identity) — displayed on the activation screen, which YOU voluntarily send to the seller to receive your license key. The “Buy my license” button on that screen adds it to the payment page address, so that your order arrives with the right identifier; it is never sent without an action from you.

If you click “Check for updates”, the software reads a small file on our website: as with any web page, the server then sees your computer's IP address and the ForgeCalc version. Nothing else is sent, and nothing is sent without that click.

If you choose to enable a live connection to your printer (Bambu Lab or Prusa), your login credentials are those of your own account with those manufacturers — ForgeCalc neither collects nor transmits them; the connection is made directly between your PC and the manufacturer's service.

Retention period

Data related to your order (email, invoice) is kept for as long as necessary to manage the business relationship and to comply with the legal obligations regarding retention of accounting documents (10 years for supporting documents, in accordance with the French Commercial Code).

The address left in the “keep me posted” form is kept until you unsubscribe, and at the latest until the end of the launch; it is then deleted.

Data recipients

Your data is only shared with providers strictly necessary for the sale and delivery:

No data is sold, rented, or shared for advertising purposes.

The site's fonts are hosted on the site itself: displaying a page sends no data to any third party.

Your rights

In accordance with Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@forgecalc.app. We respond within a maximum of one month.

Complaint to the CNIL

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may file a complaint with the French data protection authority (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés, CNIL) — www.cnil.fr.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser: no analytics, no advertising network, no social media buttons, and the fonts are served from this site rather than by a third party. No consent banner is therefore needed. Payment, however, takes place on the pages of our provider Paddle, which applies its own cookie policy there.

Transfers outside the European Union

This site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., a US company, so displaying a page involves a transfer of technical data (IP address, request headers) outside the European Union. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and its data processing agreement incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Payment is collected by Paddle.com Market Ltd, established in the United Kingdom, a country recognised as adequate by the European Commission — or, for an order placed from the United States, by Paddle.com Inc.; the applicable safeguards are set out in Paddle's privacy policy. Emails sent to the contact address are handled by the publisher's email provider, which may be established outside the European Union.
